We are a congregation of believers who strive to be followers of Christ based solely on the teachings of the New Testament. We endeavor to teach and obey the authority of God’s word in all things and to function as the first century church we read of in the Bible; consequently we refer to ourselves as Christians and not by any denominational or secular name. As a church we have no human head (the head of the New Testament church is Christ, Ephesians 5:23), we have no earthly headquarters, and are not tied to any organizational superstructure. As the first disciples did, we meet, worship, and work as an autonomous congregation, and are overseen by local elders. We identify ourselves as a church of Christ as spoken of in Romans 16:16 as this expression describes the church which belongs to Christ.
We believe that salvation comes just as the New Testament teaches, by hearing the word, believing, confessing Christ, repenting of sin, being baptized for the remission of sins, and living a faithful life in fellowship with God. We also believe there is but one true New Testament church, and that we must worship, work, and be organized as the Bible teaches, and not according to our own wisdom and desires. The work of the Lord's church is spiritual in nature and we avoid combining social and recreational activities with the work and activity that the Lord has assigned his church.
There is a vast sea of confusion in the world when it comes to Christianity. Many of our own number have come out of that foggy sea and now can look back and understand more clearly the distinction between the New Testament church and the denominationalism of man. We invite you to do the same. Please have a look around our website. There are articles to read and opportunities for studies. Our desire is simply to help you learn the truth of God's word so that you may come to follow Him. You are also invited to visit our services and Bible classes.
